Where POS projects actually go wrong
German fiscal law is strict, but it is a solved problem: Odoo Enterprise ships the German localisation with TSE-secured transactions and DSFinV-K export. It needs configuring correctly, and it needs someone who has done it before, but nobody has to invent it.
The part that goes wrong is the counter itself. A scanner that reads inconsistently. A customer display that shows the wrong total, or nothing at all. A receipt printer that works until it is moved to a different socket. Each of these is small; together they are the difference between a till the staff trust and one they work around.
What we have solved
Scanning
Datalogic scanners integrated so they simply work — at the counter and on goods receipt, without a driver hunt on every new device.
Customer display
A live second screen showing the customer what is being rung up, item by item, and the total they are about to pay. Required in practice, awkward to retrofit, straightforward once it is built properly.
Printing
Receipt printers at the counter and, where the site needs it, order printers in the kitchen. Configured so a new site is a setup step rather than an afternoon of troubleshooting.

Rollout
Because the hardware layer and the configuration are the same everywhere, a new site is a configuration exercise. What changes is the menu, the floor plan and how many tills stand on the counter.
Restaurants, a grocery and a nail salon run the same setup today. The breadth is the point: if it takes payment over a counter in Germany, it fits.
